2004 Honda ST1300

O
n Craig's List, I found another wrecked '04 ST1300 in April of 2014, that I couldn't pass up, a bit rough, but what the heck! :D The history was that the bike was wrecked back in 2008 and the guy, on a whim, put in a bid with the Auction place and won. He thought he would rebuild it and sell it, but he never got around to fixing it up, so it sat in his shed in the back for 6 years. And even after sitting for all the time, he was able to get it running, a little rough, but running. When I took it for a spin, I could tell that one of the handlebars were off, and I found out later, so were the forks! I loaded it in my trailer and brought it home. I really wasn't in any big hurry at first to get it fixed up, that was until I told Brett he could use it for our trip through the Southwest. But one month from the trip, I decided I better fix the coolant leak on my other '04 (my commuter bike) instead, so back on the back burner it went. I was able to get a number of things done, but the other bikes took priority. Our trip really went well. A few months later, I was putting new tires on the Commuter '04 when I found that the waterpump was leaking pretty good. So I parked it and started riding the '10 until I could get back to this project bike! So, Eleven months after buying the bike, it was ready for lights and brakes certificates (required for salvage title bikes to get back on the road), So the day I got it ready, I decided after it passed the certificates, I took it to DMV up in Hemet, since I couldn't find any parking near the Temecula DMV! Well, after several hours, and $922 in back fees and fines, I got it tagged. I then got Insurance on it and it was ready for some test runs. This is a basic list of the parts I have found needing maintenance or replacement: beacause they were dead, missing, broken, bent or scraped:Centerstand

I bought the bike in Early April 2014. I worked on it off and on for almost a year, but I was just taking my time and not trying to restore it all at once. But one thing lead to another, and I got the bike road worthy and used it as my commuter from April 2015 to Feb 2016. In that time period, I put on around 20,000 miles on it.
