1972 Yamaha YDS7 250 Twin

I purchased my first 1972 Yamaha 250 Twin in November of 1971, straight from the dealer. This little bike was my sole transportation for 11 months. And during that time, I put over 14,000 miles on it. Once, one of my room mates rode it to work, while I used his car to pickup groceries at a base, and we didn't check the two-stroke oil level. Needless to say, it burnt up the top end and had to be rebuilt. Just before I got rid of it, I had tried to fix the tranny because it wouldn't stay in second gear, After a number of bucks spent and replacing tranny parts, it still slipped and I just sold it like that. By that time I had bought a new car ('72 Chevy Vega), and didn't need the bike any longer.
