1985 Honda VF750S V45 Sabre
In June of '98 I had sold my '83 V45 Sabre to Dave. By February of '99, I discovered that the internet had a number of goodies out there, like Sabmag. While looking through their motorcycle adds, I found an '85 V45 Sabre with Fairing and Saddlebags.
When I contacted the seller, the first question I asked was if the bike had the color matched fairing and saddlebags! It did, whoohoo! What a find! I knew what a find it was, so I jumped on it. One drawback. It was sitting in Edmonton, Alberta Canada! )-:
I had to wait for the thaws before venturing up to pick it up, but it was well worth the wait! The bike had 8,100 miles on it, and when I sold it, it had about 30,000 on it. It was a great bike for me.
So from July 99 to November 03, I rode that bike all over So. California. Then two things happened. The first was that Dave started riding two up with his wife, Gloria and they found their V45 Sabre (the one I sold him back in 98) was just too small for them to ride two up, so they bought an '84 V65 Sabre.
The other thing was; I was able to get my wife to go on a ride with me and we found the same problem being it was just too small for two up. The poor 750 just didn't have the juice. So, after four plus years, the V45 Sabre took the back burner when I bought an '84 V65 Sabre. I wasn't riding it much, but I did hang on to it until after I bought my '05 ST1300.
